What I saw last night .....

By Zoo

Eva's Man
What do Air Jordan, the Big O and Eva's husband have in common? They are the only players in NBA history to score at least 55 points AND hand out 10 assists in the same game. Tony Parker led the Spurs to a 129-125 double overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves with 55 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. Both the Spurs and the Wolves now sit at 1-3. The great Tim Duncan "chipped" in with 30 points and 16 rebounds. For the season Tony Parker is averaging 33.3 ppg and 7.3 apg. Parker is a career 16 ppg scorer so DOUBLING his career scoring average for an entire season is a little far fetched, but right now he is balling out of control and carrying the Spurs offense.

That's AMARE
It was well chronicled that Amare Stoudemire would greatly benefit with an entire season of playing with an aging Legend in Shaquille O'Neal. Last night he was a little legendary himself. Amare scored 49 points and added 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to become just the 4th player in NBA history to score 49 pts and add 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The Suns are 4-1 and look as good as ever even with slowing down their frantic pace.

The Don
Derrick Rose has been one of the best rookie performers so far in the young NBA season. Lest night he got a look at one of the best performers in the history of the game. The Don James finished with 41 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals leading the Cavs to their 3rd victory in 5 games. More impressively, Lebron went 15-16 from the foul line. Rose would finish with 20 points and 7 assists.

The Hawks Fly High
Joe Johnson scored 24 points and added 7 rebs and 4 assists as the Atlanta Hawks went into the Big Easy and beat the Hornets 87-79 in a battle of previously unbeaten. The Hawks are playing very well early carrying the momentum built from last seasons surprise playoff run taking the World Champion to 7 games in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Tayshaun Prince, Det. 27pts (10-13 fg), 9rebs, 3asts, 1stl and 2 blks.

Andre Iguodala, Phi. 2pts (1-7 fg), 1 ast and 4 to's.

Richard Jefferson, Mil. 32pts and 9 asts.
